sunday pet-provided therapy

i’m a love-on-a-leash certified therapy pet. two sundays a month, i volunteer with K-9 Companions, Arizona to make some humans in assisted living or in long-term physical rehabilitation centers happy. yesterday was one of those sundays.

5 dogs were there yesterday (over 20 are in our group, but not every dog comes each week): me, milo (king charles cavalier spaniel), simone (a standard poodle rescue), michaleen (a toy fox terrier/pomeranian rescue), & gizmo (havanese).

here’s a great pic of milo enjoying the attention he was getting:

kai couldn’t really take pics when he was introducing me to humans. he did, however, take a pic of me asking him for a treat.

you can see a video of me putting my paws up for a treat over on flickr.

i really enjoy doing therapy work—it’s great to get treats just for making people smile—but it’s tiring work. i crashed hard sunday afternoon.

hope you did something fun this weekend and hope you’re starting your week well-rested!
